What will happen to the USA when it can not rely on oil from the middle east?

Where are the wells in the USA.

What about water fuel.

Whe gets the tech from the space shuttle, who cares about the space shuttle.

Where is the USA cure for anything on this earth that has come from space.

Is it all a game, sure as hell is it.

They can spot from space all the major oilfileds, 3 d siesmec is a joke, they no the big finds in Africa already and the rest of the world.

The shuttle is an oil finder and always has been. What will happen to the USA when it can not rely on oil from the middle east?
You are so confused. What will happen to the USA when it can not rely on oil from the middle east?
We have plenty of oil here in America.......We are just using oil from the Middle East right now. There is plenty of oil in Alaska, but the environmentalists are fighting to keep us from drilling there because they don't want it to ruin the habitat for the animals living there.........Eventually, we will be forced to drill there. Currently, the government has just approved offshore drilling in the ocean and that's what they will drill first.

There is oil in Colorado as well, but not enough to supply the entire nation.
There is plenty of oil in Canadian oil sands, and production from this source is increasing. There is an enormous amount available in Colorado oil shales, but it is not yet economical to produce oil from this source. Given adequate power (nuclear reactors), hydrogen can be made from water and combined with carbon from any of various sources (e.g., coal) to make liquid fuels -- but this would be costly. The biggest problem is political: there is lots of oil in the US that is off-limits for present production. The oil shortage is costing the US economy a billion dollars a day -- but no caribou in the ANWR need look at an oil rig.
I think you will find they are sitting on quite a bit of their own, while using what's in the Middle East.

There's oil under Mexico and they are a lot nearer the Falklands than us.

Practically pinging the planet for oil from outer space is a pretty good idea, so almost certainly you're right that the shuttle is used for that purpose.

Hydrogen fuel cells running on water is a probable technology that's been talked about for years. I would question whether there is enough water available to run a Country never mind the planet and would the side effects be perma fog?
The U.S. has several options, which will be driven into action by the marketplace. There are all kinds of technical options, and the skill exists to use them once the economics make sense. The real question is, what will happen to the Middle East?
They will have to pay more for their gas like everybody else. The good times are over for them.

A few more nuclear reactors would have been a good idea, but the greenies put a stop to that.
What is exactly is your question? This seems more of a spout of your ideas than anything with any validity.

The US will do what it's ALWAYS done in the face of adversity...adapt, improvise, overcome...
I think they're secretly looking for oil on Mars.
no, the real question is what will happen to us?

How to get rid of oil pimples?

I get really bad, big, PAINFUL oil filled pimples on my forehead, like right on my hair line. Is there any spot treatments I could use because I already use the Clean %26amp; Clear soft and I love it for whiteheads and blackheads and preventing them, but I really need something for my oil pimples. Please help (: Easy Ten!How to get rid of oil pimples?
Usually that happens because-don't take this personally-you're not washing your hair well enough. Try a different shampoo, and if worse comes to worst, go to a beauty salon and have your hair washed, tell them about your problem and ask for a shampoo recommendation, and wash your hair twice a day until your pimples go away, and keep your hair clean to prevent further break outs. How to get rid of oil pimples?
Well the proactiv refining mask can be used for spot treatment. u leave it on the pimple/blackhead over night. It really does work. A great investment.

Or some people use that white toothpaste. A dot on the pimple/zit/blackhead or whatever u may have a problem with.
Try a good mud mask like this one. Otherwise, see a Dermatologist:

How do I change the oil pump on my 1993 Chevrolet 2500 Suburban?

Ok my daily driver is a 1993 Suburban 3/4 ton 4x4. It has 293,000 miles. My oil pressure is fine when I start it but after about 10 minutes it runs very low. I am going to replace the pump simply because, even though it might not be the main problem, I know it probably needs it anyway. Any suggestions would be great. Do I just need to remove the oil pan, or is there more to it? ThanksHow do I change the oil pump on my 1993 Chevrolet 2500 Suburban?
I agree. 20-W50.

The oil pan needs a significant amount of clearance to be removed.

If yours is four wheel drive, it's going to be a real challenge. How do I change the oil pump on my 1993 Chevrolet 2500 Suburban?
Yes, you do have to remove the oil pan...if there isn't enough clearance between the pan and crossmember (at least 4 inches) the engine has to be lifted to give the necessary clearance. It's better to let a shop do it, they have the equipment to get it done right...
You can put all the pumps you want but it won't stop the thermal expansion on the main and rod bearings that get oiled from the pump first. your oil pressure switch is in the block at the top of the motor that gets oil pressure last, when the mains get hot all the oil pours out between the bearings and crankshaft causing a loss of pressure at the end of the oiling system. short of a rebuild, I would try a straight weight

oil like straight 40w or 50w depending on where you live and

what season of the year it is. straight weight oil stays thicker than milti viscosity oil and might help, and an oil change to try first is a lot easer than an oil pump change
remove the oil pan and you should see it hanging there, unbolt it and install the new one, also it helps if you take the cover off the new pump so you can see the pump gears and put some grease in the gears and button it back up as this helps the pump pick up oil quicker on the first start-up.
yea,you need to drop the oil pan and i think theres 2 or 4 bolts has to come out and the pump comes out, along with the pick-up screen.the pick-up tube pulls right out of the pump, but make sure the screen is straight down to the oil, when you install it in the other pump.make sure you fill the new pump with petroleum jelly, before you install it,so it wont be sucking air, then clean out the pan and use a new gasket and install the pan,and put new oil and filter in it,and your good to go.its not hard, just time consuming.

  • How remove epoxy adhesive? and wich one is the best for a oil crank cover?

ok, I have a problem I have been dealing with a crack in the oil crank of my car and I fixed with epoxy adhesive, but the epoxy cracked (it worked for 3 years!!!) but I forgot wich one I used that time, so if you recomend one that would be great!! also, by the way, does someone knows how to remove the epoxy (cracked one)? I tried but it kind of hard! and I don't want to put the new one over the old one.

Note: I would love to change the oil crank but it is almost impossible I have to disconect and lift the whole motor of the car to be able to do that!!!

Thanks a lot.How remove epoxy adhesive? and wich one is the best for a oil crank cover?
Use a small grinder to get the old stuff off, or a hammer and chisel, but be careful. I don't know of any solvent that gets it off.

As for as what to use, There's a lot of choices, I had the same problem, I used JB Weld first, it worked until I hit something with the oil pan again. I used Water weld the second time its still working, water weld can be put on in wet places and under water, its a unique compound. I think JB weld is good , but takes along to harden, Water weld hardens in few minutes fully cured in 20 minutes. How remove epoxy adhesive? and wich one is the best for a oil crank cover?
oil crank? all I can guess is that you mean oil pan/crank case- if so, then I'd recommend J.B. Weld for the epoxy, a Dremel Mototool for the old stuff removal, and replacing the oil pan for a permanent repair.
A heat gun will soften epoxy, to remove it.

there is a red sealant that is high temp, that will seal better than epoxy

    good luck!

How do I drain the oil in a Craftsman lawn mower with Briggs and Straton engine?

It's about 2 years old. Not sure the correct way to drain the oil.How do I drain the oil in a Craftsman lawn mower with Briggs and Straton engine?
In the underside/blade compartment of the mower is a drain plug.......remove it after cleaning grass buildup in the cavity.....let the oil drain out. Will drain quicker if you also remove the oil filler cap after removing the plug. Let drain until runs dry........Then replace the drain plug, add recommended oil for lawn mowers to proper level, replace filler cap.........Starter up.......How do I drain the oil in a Craftsman lawn mower with Briggs and Straton engine?
On the bottom there should be a plug, not a to put a wrench on, but to take a ratchetand extension without the socket, insert it to drain.... lift it up on blocks work, just enough to put a clean bucket under to let it drain. (then take it to the right guys, advance, autozone, etc.) insert the plug good and tight and fill with 20 ounces (not a whole quart!) or oil. hd-30 wieght is good to use. If this is a pushmower.... there's also the other way, to drain it out the dipstick. I'd suggest running this oil for a couple hours and draining it again then do it again one more time, because there's metal bits everywhere from breaking in (oil will be silvery, this is normal for the first 3 or so changes)

If its a riding mower, theres a drain plug on the right side.... its either a extension or a plastic pop and drain plug. Should be around 1.5 quarts... for any engine, if not sure... fill then check, fill then check... till its to the full mark on the dipstick.

Also if the air filter is original.. replace if so.
pull the oil drain plug out!!!!

I have a 2001 Corolla and I believe it starts to burned oil?

It has a 150,000 miles on it. I have to add half quart every two weeks and it runs 400 miles a week. What is the best way to deal with it. I am worrying that it might need a ring job just to stop it from burning oil or thinking on selling the car.I have a 2001 Corolla and I believe it starts to burned oil?
1600 miles per quart isn't all that bad. A rebuild is expensive. Since it's not too serious, you have time to save for a new car.I have a 2001 Corolla and I believe it starts to burned oil?
actually if you can't afford a $800--$1000.00 repair you can continue to monitor your oil consumption (the oil usage will gradually get worse) but with the price of oil you are throwing your money out the window instead of saving for the repair. Usually, your oil problem is from worn valve guides %26amp; seals which are located in the cylinder head (I am assuming it has a 4 cylinder engine) At this time I would definetly replace the timing belt (no extra labor, just the $$$ of parts ) if it has not been done in the past 10,000 miles...Without seeing the condition of the car its hard to tell from here if the car is worth the repair.......but what kind of car can you purchase for this repair cost???
I agree use weight 30 oil,,,,,it is more denser than the usual oil which means less oil would enter the combustion chamber
For the age of your vehicle, that's not an inordinate amount of oil consumption. Switching to a heavier grade lubricant (e.g., SAE 30 vs. 10W30) will reduce the oil consumption, but it will also increase the engine wear upon startup, which is where a majority of that wear occurs. If you live in a cold climate, the startup issue will be exacerbated.

I'd just keep adding oil and perform regular oil changes. Heck, my first vehicle (a 1954 Cadillac hearse) got 50 miles to the quart, and I took it from school in Boston to home in Illinois and out to Nebraska and back without a hitch (but I think I lost a number of tailgaters in the smog). And it was still running fine when I sold it.
to find bad rings a cylinder leak test needs to be done. that requires special tools. simple check if it has it. check the pvc valve on the valve cover make sure its not blocked causing unnecessary pressure in the crank case. the only repair for oil burn form a weak cylinder is engine rebuild or replacement. also when you first start the car does it have a lot of blue smoke out the exhaust. that's a sign of bad valve seals. that's not to bad to fix. 16 yrs ASE cert. retired
here is what to do, have the oil changed and use only 30 weight oil, and a whole quart of lucas oil stabilizer, it costs about 13 bucks for a bottle but is well worth it, i have a great deal of respect for all lucas products, the fuel system cleaner is very good also, this will stop the smoking as you go down the street, and you will notice the power too , ( after the oil gets mixed well with the lucas oil stabilizer

How can you save the oil from absorving wh en you deep fry the things/?

You can't really keep oil from absorbing into food, all you can really do is let the food drain on some paper towels after you cook it.How can you save the oil from absorving wh en you deep fry the things/?
I'm assuming you mean how to stop food absorbing the oil when you deep fry. Make sure the oil is hot enough before putting the food into it. A good way to test the oil is to put the handle of a wooden spoon into it. If it sizzles your oil is hot enough. When the oil is hot enough it seals the outside of the food. How can you save the oil from absorving wh en you deep fry the things/?
Well all the answers are some what Right, But the secret is to have a thermometer for your oil. Usually a good frying temp is 350-375 degrees. Depending on what you are frying. Just remember not to over fill your or overcrowd the pot with food or oil. Make sure you place the food in slowly not all at once since this will shock the oil and bring the temp down fast, then it has to get back up to temp again. When the food is done remove quickly and place on a draining rack over some towels.
follow the 2nd answer! That person is right.
Make sure the oil is at a very high temp before dipping food in, this helps speed the frying time so less oil is absorbed. Then drain on paper towel.
put the things in a piece of paper this will absorb the oil.
I learnt this in school and would like to share with you.

The degree of oil absorption depends on many factors.

    1) the type of ingredients/type of coating on food

    - Foods that contain a high percentage of sugar and fats will absorb more oil.

    - soft flour absorb more oil than hard flours = battered fish absorb more oil than breadcrumbed ones.

    2) temperature of fat during frying

The oil must be maintained at 190degrees Celcius or above when frying. The key word here is maintained. If you fry a piece of chicken and halfway you add in a frozen nugget in, that's gonna bring down the temp of the oil, increasing the oil absorption. Do not use oils that have been reused many times cos this increases the surface tension of the oil, thus resulting in foods soaking up more oil.

    3) surface area of the food

Large pieces of foods tend to absorb less oil than smaller ones (cos of the larger surface area). So don't cut up ur food into tiny pieces - fry them in large pieces instead. Also, fry food for the minimum time required - do not overfry to prevent more oil absorption.

Foods with holes (eg. lattice or ring shape) have increased surface area and this increases oil absorption too. Crinkle cut fries absorb more oil than straight cut ones.
You can't prevent 100% of the oil from getting into food but you can keep it to a minimum by:

Try to deep fry as much as you can with only flour as a breading. While simple flour coating doesn't protect things like skinless chicken, its more than adequate for chicken that still has the skin on. A simple coating of flour provides less coating on the outside of the food for oil to absorb into in the first place.

Making certain that you fry relatively moist things, as the moisture escaping is key to keeping oil from absorbing too much.

Keep that oil at a high temperature at least 325 degrees and preferably 350 degrees. The high oil temperature causes the food to heat up at the correct rate, turning moisture inside to steam. As the steam escapes, it prevents the oil from being drawn into the food.

Place the food on a layer of paper towels after you have taken it out fo the oil to drain off some of the oil that was abosorbed. Replace the towels frequently as needed to prevent them from getting too greasy.
you cant but u can dicrease it by putting your stuff in a hot oil putting ing it in a warm oil the potato or chicken would observe the oil while waiting for the oil to be hot and when finish frying put them on a paper towel ot will observe another amount of oil but youll never prevent ur food frpm pbserving the oil

  • How would I store Bulk oil and shortening in my pantry?

If I buy bulk shortening or oil..... What would be the best way to divide it up and store it? In a pantry with ziplock backs. Tupperware? How would I store Bulk oil and shortening in my pantry?
How much bulk oil, and how long do you wish to store it? Also, what kind of oil?

I have about two years food storage in my pantry. Needless to say, I study about proper food storage methods a lot.

    Most oils are only good for two years or so, before they start to go rancid. When an oil begins to go rancid, it actually changes composition. The oil then produces things which are harmful to the human body. This is an ultra simplified explanation. Needless to say, you do not want to consume oils and fats which have begun to go ';off.';

About the only thing you can store long term is Crisco. Crisco will keep nearly indefinitely as long as it's in it's sealed container. However the older the Crisco is, the faster it will begin to turn once opened. Still, you can keep cans of Crisco sitting on your shelf safely for 10-20 years, and have them still be perfectly edible.

Plastic is NOT the way to store oils/fats/shortening for long term. You really want to have them in metal (like olive oils) or glass.

Plastic IS porous, and will allow air exchange with the outside air slowly over the years. You can actually make liquid foods toxic (in just a couple of months) if you store plastic containers of food directly on cement floors. The plastic will absorb toxins right through and into the foods from the cement.

Storing in the plastic bottles you bulk purchased in (like five gallon containers of oil) are fine to use. Indeed it's better to leave the oil in its sealed container, until you need to start using it. Just store it off the floor, even something as simple as wood planks to hold it off a cement floor. Carpet over cement is not good enough...it needs more than that.

Keep your bulk oils and shortening in a cool, and dark pantry. Cool and dark are the two keys to having your food last as long as possible.

If you stored too much oil, and it goes off, do not just toss it out. There are still ways to use it.

It can be burned in lamps, used to make soap, poured on gravel driveways to keep dust down (ONLY food grade oils, NEVER motor oils!), as a base for a homemade insect spray for fruit trees, as a flea and tick dip for your animals (note takes a LOT of shampoo to wash out), and a whole lot of other uses.

Since we also have livestock, I buy a lot of bulk food oils. It's a good addition to the diets of pregnant, or elderly animals when it's winter.

If it is oil I would think any plastic container that has a lid on it..Not a bag I believe it would leak.As far as if it is shortening once it is open I would be leave that it would have to go into the fridge so it would not turn rancid.

How is mankind going to overcome the lack of oil in the future? Is solar power the best answer to replace oil?

Is anyone optimistic about fusion power? How is mankind going to overcome the lack of oil in the future? Is solar power the best answer to replace oil?
Solar is the holy grail of energy sources. We need much better technology to convert the energy to a useable form and store it before it will become commercially viable. Contemporary solar cells barely replenish the energy it takes to manufacture them before the end of their useful lifespan.

Nuclear power is going to get us from fossil fuels to solar. Fusion may never be viable due to the massive amounts of energy required to control a fusion reaction; but fission reactors are cost-effective, safe, and modern designs produce little to no radioactive waste materials. Radioactive materials are free energy that already exists within the earth's crust, but they require enrichment to do any useful work. With a strong nuclear infrastructure, developed countries could easily begin producing hydrogen for fuel-cell powered vehicles and machines.

The oil we use now is nothing more than thousands of years worth of stored solar energy (we think), originally harnessed by biological machines (plants) and converted to petroleum by time and pressure. If humans can ever develop a simple and efficient technology that mimics photosynthetic processes, we will have acheived an essentially free source of energy for the duration of our solar system (and beyond, if it comes to that). How is mankind going to overcome the lack of oil in the future? Is solar power the best answer to replace oil?
Solar power is used to produce electricity. Very little electrical energy is produced through the burning of oil. Oil is used primarily to power cars.

Electric cars with rechargeable batteries might be the best option. The power to charge these batteries might come from a variety of sources. We currently have the ability to make electricity with nuclear power plants which can produce electricity reliably, safely and without the production of any greenhouse gases. Unfortunately, this technology has been undermined by objections which are ignorant, emotive and shrill.
I am not optimistic about people's attitude.

I think it's sad that the Chernobyl incident permanently damaged the reputation of nuclear energy. Like any other technology, it is neither good nor bad, but it can be used for either. Chernobyl occured because the night shift workers were suffering from sleep deprivation. The real issue is why they were sleep deprived, not nuclear energy.
Crises brings solutions, as innovations and alternatives. History of evolution of species tells just this.

Alternative energy resources are at the breakthrough stage and certainly solar power is one option besides hydrogen cell. Efficient flowsheets in near future would impact our energy consumption in near future too.

    thnks
Certainly by the time oil becomes scarce, probably a few hundred years, we will have developed alternatives such as fusion. I suspect we will develop alternatives far sooner than that if the price of oil continues to remain so high.

    Winsor %26amp; Newton

This is one of the most popular oil paint brands, found in most art stores. Their artist quality paints are relatively inexpensive, and their student grade paints (Winton) are even more so.

    Grumbacher

This is another of the most popular brands, cheaper than Winsor %26amp; Newton for the most part although probably of lesser quality as well.

    Utrecht

This is one of the least expensive artist quality paints on the market. It is therefore quite popular, even though it is available only via mail order or from a few select stores.

    Rembrandt

These oil paints are perhaps a little more expensive than Winsor %26amp; Newton, but they have a good reputation for quality. Their paints are generally lighter and more mousse-like in texture than most.

    Old Holland

Although it is not as large a company as Winsor %26amp; Newton, Grumbacher, or Talens, Old Holland oil paints are still reasonably widely available. They considered by many to be the finest of the major brands, and the price is consistent with this.

    Gamblin

This is one of the more popular of the smaller brands. The paints are made by an artist, Robert Gamblin.

    M. Graham

These paints are made with walnut oil instead of linseed oil. The advantages and disadvantages of this have been debated over the years, but the claim is that paintings made from walnut oil paints will yellow less and be less susceptible to cracking over time. One tradeoff is that walnut oil dries more slowly than linseed oil. M. Graham also makes an alkyd white, and by using this in conjunction with walnut oil colors for the rest of your painting, you end up with a curing time more similar to linseed oil, since white is mixed into most other colors.

What maintnance does an old oil furnace need?

We moved into an old house (1940's) and it has an oil furnace. I don't know when the last time it was used. What type of oil does it use? Is it a safe way to heat a home? what type of routine maintnance will the landlord have to do in order to get it going? What maintnance does an old oil furnace need?
It uses fuel oil, which is kerosene. The oil is kept in a tank that is either above ground (usualy outside) or buried. Oil furnaces are perfectly safe when maintained properly. You should have it checked by a professional at the beginning of each heating season. The biggest danger is a leak in the heat exchanger unit or exhaust duct that can allow carbon dioxide to get into your house.

if it as old as it sounds it is probably not very efficient. See if your landlord will change it for a more efficient model.

Get a couple of CO detectors to put in the hallway and bedroom - they are good protection and are not expensive. Some municipalities give them away for free. What maintnance does an old oil furnace need?

Where can I find a geological surveyor to survey my land for oil?

I own the mineral rights and 250 acres in North East Oklahoma. How can I find a surveyor to do an initial survey. I want to foot the bill for the survey and exploratory drilling so I get the majority of the profits if we find oil. I can foot the bill for 50K or so before I will need any help. Where can I find a geological surveyor to survey my land for oil?
You could do some research about the rock formations in your area. This can be done at the local USGS or state geological survey. Least you could find out if the right sedimentary formations and cap rock exists under your property.

The next step would be to have a geologist interpret the area to find the best place to drill. Idealy you want to drill over a mound or upward bend in the formation where petroleum is likely to concentrate or pool in fractures.

The only way to know for sure is to drill a ';wild cat well'; and hope for the best.

As far as a specific surveyor Oklahoma has quite a few wells, I'm sure the advertise. Or most drillers and surveyors have some license with the state geologic survey. Can ask them for one near you.

Where can I find a geological surveyor to survey my land for oil?
I live in Alberta, Canada and also have mineral rights (from my grandfathers homestead). I'm also a semi retired geologist (29 years experience in oil and coal)

I have leased my land out for the last 10 years (2 x 5 year leases) but no well has yet been drilled. I negotiated a 17% royalty if it was a producer.

Since I retired from my job I have had some time to look closer at my lease. The surrounding wells, the exploration activity and history (especially the company that has leased from me), the pipeline activity, and most importantly the geology. I'm glad I did.

My lease expires in Sept and with my better knowledge I am in a much better position - ignorance isn't bliss. My lease looks veryattractivee. I will either negotiate a much higher lease and royalty rate or shop my lease around to competing companies. I have even considered drilling my own well. Wells cost about $250 K in the area so I would look for investor and other companies to ';farm in';.

Sothat'ss my experience - you are on the right track - a geological ';look see'; is a very prudent decision. I'd be willing to help get you started - nowadays their is so much data available on-line. Drop me an email.

ps I took a quick look at the Oklahoma Geological Survey - they have a wealth of free data - let me know your county and I'll take a deeper look for free.

Re no oil change. whats the worst that happens with no car engine oil change and when?

just curious. does the oil become so degraded and sludgy that it can not be fed back up to the top of the engine etc. what are your thoughts and experience perhaps? sources? weblinks?Re no oil change. whats the worst that happens with no car engine oil change and when?
yes my friends car had a piston shoot through the engine, after her ex gave the car back he hadnt changed the oil for 2 yearsRe no oil change. whats the worst that happens with no car engine oil change and when?
I worked at an automotive machine shop some time ago. A mechanic brought in a motor from a Chevy Astro van. Claimed it had 40,000 miles on it, that the owner who had bought it new had never changed the oil because he was planning on trading it in 2 years. The motor had a spun rod bearing, was completely worn out and was the filthiest engine that I had ever seen. And I have seen A LOT of engines. Turns out that he had run on hard times and hadn't been able to trade the van after all, but never bothered to start changing the oil. Required a crank and a rod, new valves and guides, bore job and new pistons. Bill from us was probably 600. Plus the mechanic for removal and replacement and teardown and reassembly of the motor. If he had changed the oil every 4000 miles (oil change at Wal Mart at the time was about 15 dollars) it would have cost him 150. As it was, it probably cost him well over 1500. And this was 15 years ago.
Are you the same guy with the Mercedes??? Don't be stingy about oil changes. It's the one single thing you can do to prevent future trouble. Have someone evaluate the condition of your engines current amount of sludging, de-sludge it, and use Mobil 0W-40. Change it once a year. You should be covered.
It will sludge up and become so thick that it won't circulate or lubricate. I've seen it happen many times when the oil has been neglected. Engine seizure happens.
ruin the engine, could be up to a 10,000 dollar repair bill....
Yeah,i had this probelem before and i just changed the filter and oil evry few hundred miles till i could see the rocker arms shine again so change it frequntly util it's all clean again, then chage every 3000 mi or 3 months what ever comes 1st.

  • What kind of gas and oil should i use in a 1996 seadoo gtx?

I know that a higher octane is probably recommended for best performance, but with prices being so high i wouldn't mind using regular 87 if it will not hurt it. also, what kind of oil can i use. is there an alternative to the expensive oil that the manual says to use? i own a dirtbike and the manual says to use kawasaki oil which is 40 a gallon, and i use this stuff from wal-mart that is 40 dollars for 5 gallons and the oil is the same quality. thanksWhat kind of gas and oil should i use in a 1996 seadoo gtx?
It is best to use OEM TWC-3 2 cycle oil recommended for your 2 stroke outboard or jetski. The reason is some 2 cycle outboards and PWC's are specifically designed to run with a certain level of lubrication that often times is not enough with aftermarket TWC-3 2 cycle oils. Also, OEM TWC-3 2 cycle oil is specially made to work with their oil injection systems too, getting a cheap TWC-3 oil might cause it to fail.

The best advice I can give you is go to several Seadoo dealerships and/or service shops and ask on whether OEM oil is necessary for your PWC's model and year. 90% or more of them will say, buy the stuff from the PWC's manufacturer for it.

So in short, only use OEM 2 cycle oil recommended for your PWC unless specifically told differently ONLY by a Seadoo dealership or Seadoo service shop which can back that claim up with evidence.

If you don't heed my advice, at least buy Quicksilver Premium 2 cycle outboard oil. Its the only aftermarket TWC-3 2 cycle oil I've ever trusted. The cheaper stuff is just plain engine wrecking junk in my experienced opinion. What kind of gas and oil should i use in a 1996 seadoo gtx?
87 octane and Wal-mart oil is fine.

I would eliminate the oil injection and pre-mix. I do on all my skis. The Sea-Doos are not as failure prone as other skis, but will stop oiling.

If you are in a warranty period you should (but not mandatory) use OEM stuff, but I believe a '96 warranty has already expired!
I have a 1996 and a 2000 gtx, both run extremely well on 87 octane and Quicksilver from Walmart. Put new plugs in and charged battery, start every year, end of year I just put Sta-bil in the tank of gas and spray plugs with WD-40.

What are some ways to get my family off of foreign oil?

I don't care at all about global warming. The more carbon dioxide the better. the only real concern is oil demand and the fact that we don't even want to produce our own energy. so i want to be self reliant for my family, any suggestions?

the only thing i thought of was walking everywhere. stupid environmentalists ruin my way of life. What are some ways to get my family off of foreign oil?
We are about to come out with a clean abundant environmentally cheap alternative energy source that going to sweep the world so relax kick back your not going to have to give your money to all the foreign oil sheiks that are buying weapons to kill us with.

I believe you to there is plenty of oil . I believe its all about the money and what there doing with it is what the oil shortage is all about . Those people are living like kings and we are living like peasants and they keep wanting more more and more .What are some ways to get my family off of foreign oil?
You have a big problem there.

You must realize all plastics are a biproduct of the oil industry, The chemicals which grow your food are from the oil industry. If you have oil fired power stations in the states then all american production is done with oil. I assume you don't buy any foriegn goods, seeing as they use foriegn oil in thier production.

It's amazing how many imports are coming from abroad. Other than making biodiesel, I can't imagine what you are going to do.
Walking is great, but when you have to drive...

-Make your own Biodiesel for your diesel car:

    http://journeytoforever.org/biodiesel_ma鈥?/a>

Other ways to use less petroleum...

    -Buy less petroleum products

-Reuse plastics and other petroleum products

-Use heater as little as possible

-Turn down your water heater a couple degrees

-Replace your bulbs with energy saving bulbs

-Eat locally grown food (doesn't support the fuel needed to ship the food from far away)

Now you sound like an environmentalist ;)

    just kidding.
Did you say we are never going to run out of oil????????

What kind of uneducated statement is that. Do you know what oil is, where is comes from and why it is there in the first place. Nothing on this planet is infinite. We are riding the oil wave and everything depends on it, soon this will change and oil reserves will be depleted, at least accessible ones anyway. I find it disturbing that you would make such a statement, it means that ignorance is well and truly alive in our world. Environmentalists are the only thing standing in the way of big corporations and oil companies ruining every corner of our planet. Lets get educated!
Get them some bicycles for Xmas.

How many barrels of oil are produced daily?

Opec says it is cutting back 2 million barrels per day to increase the price of gas. What percentage is that of normal production? Gas prices have gone up recently about .10 or .15 cents it seems. How many barrels of oil are produced daily?
2How many barrels of oil are produced daily?
The CIA world factbook estimates 2004 oil production at 83m barrels a day.

Another website[1] has figures of 86m bbl day for Oct 2007, with OPEC accounting for 37.5m of that.

2m barrels would be 2.3% of world, or 5.3% of OPEC production.

What type of Olive Oil is best that doesn't have a strong flavor. Is that extra virgin?

I need it for cooking and salads. What type of Olive Oil is best that doesn't have a strong flavor. Is that extra virgin?
No - extra virgin is the strongest flavor, and it's not recommended to cook with it (it smokes at a lower temp). It would be used for salads and dipping bread into. It's alot more expensive than other olive oils........You can get light olive oil, for the mildest flavor, and for cooking. It's also the cheapest......There's also olive oil Pam to spray pans withWhat type of Olive Oil is best that doesn't have a strong flavor. Is that extra virgin?
yep go with the extra virgin olive oil it has almost a fruity taste to it and it's great with salads I think the first answer and I went to the same site and make sure you store it well in a dark place and like she said you can eat it with bread etc it definitely better then bread and butter you can also add some vinegar to regular olive oil I've done that before and your own herbs just to be creative that's always fun, hope this helped elizabeth
I'd avoid olive oil completely if you don't want a strong flavor. I'd use sunflower oil or vegtable oil.

';Extra virgin'; is a measure of the process it was made with, extra virgin being the most natural and without chemicals. It's not a measure of strength. In fact, since EVOO (*shudder*) is unrefined, it's probably much stronger than the rest.
I buy Bertolli Classico Olive Oil Mild Taste. You can also you refined coconut oil. It is solid in the jar but melt fast when heated. I use this also.

Does the CIA have data that shows where oil is actually going? How much oil/gas do you use?

Is it being shipped to and from different oil holes and being poured back into the ground in places that it was just pumped from? Who is using all this oil?

I don't use much, so I am not understanding this! The companies with big offices are using solar. So where is all this oil going?

I use 275 gallons a year for heating and 6 gallons a week of gasoline for my wife and I and doing what errands we need to do. Where is it all going? Something is not right!Does the CIA have data that shows where oil is actually going? How much oil/gas do you use?
Nobody is going to pump it back into the ground after they spent all the effort to get it out. It is worth a lot of money now.

Big countries like China and India, where the people are finally starting to have the spending power to buy consumer goods and cars, are increasing their oil usage very quickly.

You use more oil than you think. Everything you purchase had to be shipped to the store. It also had to be created, or mined, or harvested, so you could buy it. Consumption = oil use.Does the CIA have data that shows where oil is actually going? How much oil/gas do you use?
They arent pumping it back into the ground. They may slow down pumping or stop at times and leave it in the ground, until the price increases. This is just the low dollar, geopolitics and speculation. All the develping countries combined arent growing as fast as oil prices. China consumes 7-8 million barrels a day and produces about 60 percent of that domestically. India consumes 2.5 million barrels a day and produces 500,000 themselves. They would have to grow exponentially to equal US consumption of 20 million barrels a day. In all commodity futures markets there are speculators who trade the commodity without actually taking possession of it. They provide a liquid market for those who actually do take delivery of the commodity, and pretty much set the price. Low interest rates, and cheap and abundant capital also add fuel to speculation.
two million new immigrants a year come to the u.s. So while you may (or may not) be using less oil, these new immigrants are causing the u.s. to use more oil as a whole.

And incase you hadn't noticed it, the world's population is also increasing. More people = more oil, electricity, coal, natural gas, more energy is being consumed.
    Population is incresing.

Living status is improving all around global world.

    Consumption have increased more!

Solution is try to be wise and use only as neceessary

    Increase production capacity.

Solar in figures is too less as compared to Oil/Gas
India, China, Latin America, eastern Europe, etc. You have heard the term ';developing economies'; haven't you?
I am not sure if the CIA knows where the oil is going unless they did their own investigaton to find out. I do know that our oil is sold elsewhere in other countries and that the U.S.buys oil we use and we should be using ours for just the cost of getting it out of the ground. We The People own the land that

is bought by the Government, it was our money that purchased the land to hold in the event we need the minerals, or anything under the ground.

The oil is stock piled and used as currency; it is a great game being played by the ones that have their money invested in running the U.S.A.

A little something added to let you know we are being played. As I look over new developements you see NO

solar used, I would ask myself ';Why';; Then in a Sunday

Just dump it outside somewhere where it won*t kill a plant or tree. or find a trash barrel some place and dump it in there.

Don*t dump it down the drain or toilet or you will stop up the drains. What is the best way to dispose Fried Oil?
If you have a garden, pour the used oil into a container (the original container it came in new is good) and leave it in your garden shed or garage. When you have finished removing all the dirt from your tools after a day's gardening, wipe on with a cloth or a piece of 0000 steel wool enough of the old cooking oil to give a good protective coating all over the metal parts of each tool. If you buy good tools to begin with and treat them like this after each use, you will find you end up spending a lot less on tools in the long run.
Use it to fuel a Car or motor
Put it in an old coffee can (when it has cooled down) put can if freezer, when it is full then put it in garbage, make sure that it is closed properly and also make sure that when you add it each time that you have let it cool down
Put it in an old container you're throwing away (like from liquid laundry detergent or a milk jug) and throw it away
Strain the lumps out of it and you can run a diesel engine on it.

What cosmetic and skincare products can Vitamin E Oil be added in?

I've bought a pure bottle of Vitamin E and soybean oil and I was wondering what products can I mix it with for my face? What cosmetic and skincare products can Vitamin E Oil be added in?
I mix it with my facial moisturizerWhat cosmetic and skincare products can Vitamin E Oil be added in?
id actually recommend you use it by itself, your skin will absorb the vitamin e better. use it after you tone but before you moisturise, but if you have oily skin i would recommend you either use very little oil and moisturiser, or use the oil by itself as a moisturiser.

i actually use products that are infused with vitamin e. the body shop has the 'vitamin e' range which is a collection of any skincare product you can think of. they also sell vitamin e oil, and i cant live without the vitamin e lipbalm and the vitamin e intense nourishing cream.

What will happen to Saudi Arabia when the oil runs out?

You can't just live on prayers - unless your name is Jon Bon-Jovi of course.

Why aren't they preparing for the inevitable like Dubai? What will happen to Saudi Arabia when the oil runs out?
    They follow Browns methods

Spend today let the grandkids pay for itWhat will happen to Saudi Arabia when the oil runs out?
Proven oil reserves in Saudi Arabia are the largest in the world, estimated to be 267 billion barrels (42脳10^9 m3) including 2.5 billion barrels in the Saudi-Kuwaiti neutral zone. This is around one-fifth of the world's total conventional oil reserves. Although Saudi Arabia has around 100 major oil and gas fields, over half of its oil reserves are contained in only eight giant oil fields, including the Ghawar Field, the biggest oil field in the world with an estimated 70 billion barrels (11脳10^9 m3) of remaining reserves. Saudi Arabia maintains the world鈥檚 largest crude oil production capacity, estimated to be around 11 million barrels per day (1.7脳10^6 m3/d) at mid-year 2008 and has announced plans to increase this capacity to 12.5 million barrels per day (2.0脳10^6 m3/d) by 2009.

Saudi Arabia produced 10.6 million barrels per day in 2006, and 10.3 million in 1980. At the beginning of 2008, the kingdom was producing around 9.2 million barrels per day (1.46脳10^6 m3/d) of oil. After US President Bush asked the Saudis to raise production on a visit to Saudi Arabia in January 2008, and they declined, Bush questioned whether they had the ability to raise production any more. In the summer of 2008, Saudi Arabia announced an increase in planned production of 500,000 barrels per day. However there are experts who believe Saudi oil production has already peaked or will do so soon.

Despite its large number of oil fields, 90 percent of Saudi Arabia's oil production comes from only five fields and up to 60 percent of its production comes from the Ghawar field. Since 1982 the Saudis have withheld their well data and any detailed data on their reserves, giving outside experts no way to verify Saudi claims regarding the overall size of their reserves and output. This has causes some to question the current state of their oil fields. In a study discussed in Matthew Simmons book Twilight in the Desert, 200 technical papers on Saudi reserves by the Society of Petroleum Engineers were analyzed to reach the conclusion that Saudi Arabia's oil production faces near term decline, and that it will not be able to consistently produce more than current levels. Simmons also argues that the Saudis may have irretrievably damaged their large oil fields by over-pumping salt water into the fields in an effort to maintain the fields' pressure and boost short term oil extraction amounts.
Zechariah 12:2-8 will be fulfilled before then

2 ';I am going to make Jerusalem a cup that sends all the surrounding peoples reeling. Judah will be besieged as well as Jerusalem.

3 On that day, when all the nations of the earth are gathered against her, I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock for all the nations. All who try to move it will injure themselves.

4 On that day I will strike every horse with panic and its rider with madness,'; declares the LORD. ';I will keep a watchful eye over the house of Judah, but I will blind all the horses of the nations.

I'm sure it'll be quite a long time before the oil runs out.

And by that time, since everyone sees it coming, they would've found alternate means of making profit. Construction on solar panels is happening in Egypt/Middle East etc. And with all that sun that they get...
saudi arabia has the biggest oil fields in the world. it will take them a while to go through it all. the decline might come from if we can ever figure out alt fuels.
b/c they probably have access to more in more remote places. I dont know, but if all else fails, they may have to sell their mansions or enslave the people.

  • What are the biggest factors in oil prices?

Today before school gas where I live was $1.35, after school it was $1.59. I have to write a couple articles for journalism and thought it would be a good article. So I was wondering what the major factors in prices are. What are the biggest factors in oil prices?
Short run supply and long run demand.

Yes, production does have something to do with it. These types of quick price changes have to do with supply. Let's say there's a new discovery of oil in China, a huge discovery. Then, although demand for oil's not gonna go up or down that much (its highly inelastic at the moment and thus is only going to change in the long run when ppl start getting new cars or drastically changing life habits), supply has changed a lot.

Sometimes this supply is expected supply. Even if they're not gonna begin drilling in this supposed China oilfield for 5 more years, the price of oil will still go down. This is because of traders' speculation. Traders buy oil futures, options, and more complicated derivatives that we don't need to get into here. If traders think that the future price will change, they are gonna try to profit off of that. They can they fill the gap between the future oil price and the current oil price with arbitration (if there is money to be made beyond the interest rate, they're going to trade until the present value and future value are equal). This is just like any other investment.

Prices are also a function of the gas stations in your area. they tend to vary from city to city, not only due to transport costs (obviously, cheaper in places closer to ports or oil fields) but also due to competition among local sellers.

The OPEC cartel can influence oil supply, and thus price. Some countries actually store oil to influence price. What are the biggest factors in oil prices?
    supply and demand

the ease of drilling for oil and refining it varys the price.

    transportation difficulty does too.

also, the more the demand for oil is, the higher the price will be.

that's because in order to keep up with the demand, you have to drill and refine more, and faster.
You mean gas price. Right? Cost of gas is subject to price of crude oil, exchange rate (oil is sold in USD), manufacturing cost, federal taxes, local taxes, retail cost, profit for the owner of the pump.

I hope I did not forget anything.
supply and demand! global slowdown, less demand = lower price!

Do flat paints come in an oil base?

Im in the process of re-decorating my living room. I have a semi-gloss oil based paint on the walls now, but want to cover them up with a flat paint. I heard that flats only come in water based...and i havent had good luck with water based paints. Anyone know?Do flat paints come in an oil base?
    No.

    Always use a semi-gloss paint.

Flat paints are worthless.Do flat paints come in an oil base?
Yes, you can still get a flat alkyd based paint. Sherwin-Williams carries them. But your problem with water based paints seems to be your biggest set back. If you are attempting to cover a s-gloss oil based paint, there are a few rules you should follow. The first is that a water based will not adhere to oil base without first priming it. The second is that you need to soften the semi-gloss before putting on ANY paint. I usually use a liquid sander to accomplish this, put on my primer, then coat with what I want to use. Another thing about flat paint is that it is not really washable. With a flat water based paint, you may want to apply a coat of matte clear aycrilic over your flat, to help improve this setback.
any acrilic water baswed paint will do'it, if you want to go to

100% , use a primer before the acrilic.

Bertrand Russel and Alfred Whitehead proved irrevokably that any conclusion that is based on false assumptions is meaningless in ';Principia Mathematica';.

If you want to see champions of unregulated commodity swaps, you need look no further than McCain's economic advisor Phil Gramm, author of the now infamous ';Enron Loophole'; and Gramm's wife who happens to be a lobbyist for these speculators.

    -------------------------

In the early 1990s, Wendy Gramm, then chairwoman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, moved to lift governmental oversight of energy contracts that Enron and other companies traded. A short time later, she was appointed to Enron's board of directors.

And in December 2000, Phil Gramm helped clear the way for a bill turning his wife's deregulation decision into law, something Enron had long wanted.

The Commodity Futures Modernization Act, of which Phil Gramm was a sponsor, contained a clause making the exemption law. Though it is now called the ';Enron exemption'; on Capitol Hill, a Gramm aide said the senator had not prepared that section of the bill.

';We were not involved with that part of it,'; said Larry Neal. Neither Wendy Gramm nor Phil Gramm could be reached for comment Thursday.

Wendy Gramm's role at Enron has drawn congressional attention in the wake of the Enron collapse. She was among those subpoenaed last week by the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, headed by Sen. Carl Levin (D-Mich.).

Wendy Gramm notified Enron in December 1998 that congressional ethics rules might prevent her family from holding stock in Enron, according to Public Citizen. Phil Gramm was preparing legislation that would affect the company, triggering the rules.

Enron then devised a way to compensate Wendy Gramm, while getting around the problems associated with her ownership of stock in the company, according to Public Citizen.

';Enron canceled all of her outstanding shares and provided her with an additional service fee for a total of $117,000'; over the next four years, the group said.

The best value in my opinion is a ';synthetic blend'; motor oil that allows 7,000 mile extended oil changes.

How do you get a motor oil/grease stain out of denim?

My better half got some sort of motor oil or grease on his jeans. I've washed them at least three times now and rubbed detergent on the spot as a pre treater and nothing has worked. Just curious if there are any ways anyone else knows about how to get this stain out. I know that you can use normal house hold products to get certain stains out like hairspray on make-up stains. Just not to sure what to use on a motor oil/grease stain. Any suggestions? How do you get a motor oil/grease stain out of denim?

I have a 95 toyota tercel and the oil pressure sending unit broke off at the threads in the block...Sigh.....Ive tried a tap set but i still cant get it to budge! What other options do i have to get that outta there? Does anyone also know about how much a shop will charge to remove? Thanks In Advance! How do you remove a broken oil pressure switch?

Dang Dang Dang.......Man..... you are going to need a service shop.

And I have no idea as far as cost.

Sorry .......tough break you got there

You may get lucky and find a person in your area on Craigslist who might be able to do it .
Well you can saw it off but you would need to put new threads back on by a specialist.

How do you make jasmine essential oil?

I have a beautiful jasmine plant (outdoors) that is shedding like it should. Can I save the dropped blossoms and put them in a carrier oil? What's the best way to make essential Jasmine oil? Thanks!!!How do you make jasmine essential oil?
you might not have enough to make essential oil. you need a ton of plant matter for this, and a still.

what you can do is gather the flowers and dry them on window screen or a dehydrator. you can toss some in a bath or put a little in a pillow. also, if you have a dehydrator, while you're using it your house will smell amazing!!

you could also make a steeped jasmine oil. that's where you just get a jar of oil, jojoba or almond oil, any oil's fine, and put the flowers in there to steep. you want to let it sit for a month or more. the longer it's in there the more it will smell like jasmine when you strain it out.

  • Will becoming less dependent on foreign oil make health care cheaper?

If alternative forms of energy where to be introduced then foreign oil costs would eventually go down and more money will become available for health care. Many more jobs will be created if alternative forms of energy were to be introduced. What do you think? Will becoming less dependent on foreign oil make health care cheaper?
Assuming what you say is true. It still wouldn't make health care cheaper. It would only free up more money to spend on it. Next problem is alternative forms of energy are more expensive than traditional forms of energy. Will becoming less dependent on foreign oil make health care cheaper?
Reducing our ';dependence'; on foreign oil essentially means spending more for domestic energy sources. ';Creating'; jobs by spending more money on the finished product doesn't actually create anything. If you spend $100 on gas from foreign sources, and you must spend $110 for domestic energy sources, you now have less money to spend on other things.

That may not affect the cost of healthcare, but you now have less money to spend on whatever it is you want to buy.
The market price for oil is worldwide. The source mix for one country does not affect that price.

What type of Varnish is best to use for an Oil Painting?

I recently finished an oil painting (let it dry for a minimum of 4 months) and I want to apply varnish to it. Which one is the best? I'm not familiar with Matt or Picture Varnish or any of that other stuff. Can someone please tell me the differences? Which ones/ products do you highly reccommend? And can you put more than 1 layer of Varnish? If so, how long do you have to wait before it dries to apply the second coat? What type of Varnish is best to use for an Oil Painting?
I use Winsor %26amp; Newton Conserv-Art Varnish on all my works. It is removable and non yellowing..It gives a soft gloss that is pleasing and not to glossy while bringing out the colors beautifully. Some will suggest Dammar varnish but it is nearly impossible to remove and yellows which changes the look of your painting. When you see the word matte it refers to the gloss or dullness level after it dries.

Giving two coats would be best- waiting as instructed on the label. Probably 4-8 hours.

You can use Re-touch varnish if you think you ever have to re-work a painting later as well. It protects but allows for repainting later.

What could have happen to my 94 Impala that won't start after oil change?

I have 94 Impala SS. I will say that I was having problems with it starting because it would never start on the first try but it would start after the second or third. I took it to get a oil change. It took the normal times to start then on the way home no more than two blocks the car dies on me. Now it will not crank or anything. Any suggestions? What could have happen to my 94 Impala that won't start after oil change?
An oil change would not in itself stop your Impala from starting, most likely an electrical wire may have been accidently bumped and no longer connected.Check for any wires that look like they should be connected to something but are not. What could have happen to my 94 Impala that won't start after oil change?
Check your oil to make sure it is there. If so, I doubt that the oil change has anything to do with the starting problem.

I would guess a battery or starter cable that might be loose.
Since the vehicle ';died'; on the way home, suggest you or someone check the battery connections. More than likely the tech who serviced your vehicle checked the battery and disturbed the terminals.

OBTY...how old is your battery...time for a new one?
oh well. new car time i think!
It's probably equipped with an oil pressure sensor which cuts off the ignition when there is no oil pressure. If new oil didn't get put back in when they drained it........................NAW, it couldn't be THAT.........
there is nothing that an oil chang could have done to prevent your car from starting except if your car is equipted with an oil level safty sensor witch prevents the car from running when its less than 2 qts of oil. does tne starter turn the engin over if not then a wire was bumped off down at the starter. if it does turn over then a wire was bumped off at the coil. to check for spark remove a spark plug wire and stick a #2 phillips screwdriver in the wire and hold the screwdriver shaft aprox. 1/8 inch from any metal part of the engin, try to start the car (stay clear of the fan and all fan belts) see if there is a spark from the screwdriver to the metal engin part or if you get a shock then you got spark if no then try the same thing with the center coil wire if you have spark here but not there then pop open the distrubeter cap and spray a small blasty of wd-40 into the cap this will remove any condesation that may have got under the cap. if it still wont start then it is probally flodded if it is fuel injected wait about 10 min then try to start it again without steping on the gas. if its a carburator that mixes the fuel and air then you need to step on the gas all the way dont pump it just hold it down and crank the engin for a max of 15 or 20 seconds if this doesent work then try some ether based starting fluid remove air filter cover and squirt a bit down the carburator then quickly try to start it if it fires but doesnt start try it again if not call me at 541-870-1703 and ill ask you a few more questions and i might be able to fix it over the phone no charge of course good luck and hagd.
Fuel pump shutdown and triggered the safety mode in your computer. Disconnect your battery and then turn on your headlights to suck the power out of the flux capacitor, insure your battery has a proper charge then reconnect your battery about ten minutes after disconnecting it and be sure to insure your headlights switch is now off and it should crank over. You may check your fuel filter for blockage but I'd say fuel pump. If you can afford it take it to your local gm dealer for a complete check.
did they put any oil back in after they drained it? maybe they did not and the engine seized up.
You've knock loose some wires around the gearbox or your battery is flat have a look and check.Been the car it is on all autos there is a switch that controls start on the gearbox could have just said time to die.
make sure they put oil in it

Is it okay to eat fish oil tablets after the use by date?

I have thousands left and it seems like a waste to throw them out. Is it unhealthy to consume them? The use by date is January 2008 and it is now June 2008.Is it okay to eat fish oil tablets after the use by date?
Well use your best judgment. It sucks to waste food but the expiration date is there for a reason. I will say that I know a guy at my gym who got sick and blamed it on eating rancid fish oil caps though...Is it okay to eat fish oil tablets after the use by date?
Normally, they should be good about one year past the 'use by date'. As you noticed, its not an 'expiration date'. You should not use any thing past the expiration date. Using past the 'use by date' is acceptable.

It will not cause any harm. At worst, they become rancid and get 'fishy', not a very pleasant experience.

If you burp 'fishy' smell, there is still hope. Freeze the capsules. Frozen capsules stop burps and you may not feel the 'fishy' taste. If the frozen capsules are stil 'fishy', you will have to throw them out.

The fish oil should not freeze. If the oil gets frozen, throw outthe capsules.
Fish oil tablets are fat. Fat doesn't spoil it goes rancid. It depends how you store them. If they are kept air tight out of sun light they should be fine. If they smell or tast funny they are no longer good. If they smell and taste fine than you can go ahead and eat them.
I wouldn't take them. The other dude is right, expiration dates are there for a reason. Try to eat fish 2 times a week so you don't have to eat the tablets, but if you can't eat fish, then buy tablets... but next time, not so many! haha good luck.
It's fish oil, it consist of water and other crap, just take them.

What's the difference between Vanilla Oil and Vanilla Extract in baking?

For cookies. What's the difference between Vanilla Oil and Vanilla Extract in baking?
Vanilla extract is what you want to use for cookies. The extract is just the flavour and will not affect the texture or cooking of your cookies however vanilla oil would be like adding olive oil to your cookies and will make them greasy and also won't give as good a flavour as vanilla extract. This is why vanilla oil isn't generally used in cooking infact the only time I've seen it used is as part of a salad dressing thats how oily it is!

Go for vanilla extract and I hope you have good cookies,

StellaWhat's the difference between Vanilla Oil and Vanilla Extract in baking?
Extract is a watery substance vanilla oil will be oily.
